Kathy Behrman Ministries Kathy has been involved in God's church since childhood. She grew up in Beaumont and was a member of the Disciples of Christ. A move in the 70's to go to University of Houston brought her to South Main Baptist Church in Houston which had a growing single adult ministry. She learned lighting design under the tutelage of the Director of the Alley Theater who attended South Main Baptist and was also involved in the singles' ministry. Years later, these early lessons paid off when she joined Westbury United Methodist Church and became involved in the sanctuary choir's annual dinner theater. She began her involvement in the choir by designing the lights and sets for this annual event. She later assisted as a producer and writer of these shows. Kathy joined First Methodist Church in Houston in 2009 and has been teaching the Women of the Word Sunday School class since she joined. Kathy and her husband, Tom, are the proud parents of two college students. Annie graduated in May,'08 from Texas A&M in anthropology and Tommy is at UofH studying architecture.

In 2003, she was asked to write and perform a character for the Easter contemporary service at Westbury UMC. She wrote the story of the crucifixion from the view point of the mother of the young soldier that drove the nails into Jesus. Little did she know that this would lead to the beginning of a ministry that has continued to develop through the years. She currently has five complete one-woman shows that she performs. Two of these are primarily for women's groups - The Women Who Didn't Make the Book (Old Testament) and The Women Who Didn't Make the Book (New Testament). She performs The People That Didn't Make the Book for Mixed audiences-this show has female and male characters. The fourth show is Penny from Heaven Explains the Instruction Book and her latest is a series entitled, The Journey of Lent. She has performed at many of the Texas Annual Conference Celebration chapter events, UMW events, women's retreats, and primetimer events as well as single characters for Contemporary services. She is currently booking shows throughout Texas for women's events, retreats, and conferences.

Kathy Behrman is a member of CITA, Christians in Theater Arts.

"Much will be required of everyone who has been given much. And even more will be expected of the one who has been entrusted with more."

Luke 12:48

"We are all so blessed and we oftentimes forget that fact. Even those in the most extreme poverty in America have so much more than the rest of the world. We have a tendency to focus on what we don't have rather than how we have been blessed. We have all been given much and are called to use our gifts to serve Him. By our service, we will be entrusted with more and someday, when we stand before God, we will hear, 'Well done, good and faithful servant!'"       - Kathy Behrman
